Mammals and Rugs

A very diverse array of options await the sports enthusiast who harvests a mammal. You can choose from life size mounts and half life size mounts to rugs or hats. Oh! And don't forget, if the back portion of your specimen is damaged, we can still make a very attractive pedestal mount.

Life size and half life size mounts can be made with habitat bases that represent the terrain where the specimen was harvested.

Hats are custom made to fit the measurements of your head. They can be made with the face attached, legs on and more. The options are up to you.

Rugs are one of the specialities of Pep's Taxidermy. With a large variety of felt borders and the quality of workmanship that is put into each of our rugs, you will find this is a great way to decorate your home or cabin.

Field Care Tips

For Small Mammals:

	Do not gut or make any cuts.
	Bring your specimen into Pep’s Taxidermy fresh, or wrap it in double plastic bags and freeze.

For Large Mammals such as bears, we recommend that you call us before your hunt, and we will tell you what cuts to make, since certain mounts require certain cuts.

	When freezing, (with skin side out), lay out your specimen as flat as possible. DO NOT ROLL UP THE HIDE!
	Put your animal into double plastic bags and freeze as soon as possible. Then bring it into Pep’s Taxidermy for our quality care and mounting.
